Support Missionary Won Suffering From Brain Injury

Missionary Won went to Haiti in 2016 with the sole purpose of spreading the Gospel. I remember the day when she was commissioned as a missionary at Immanuel Church. Her impassioned prayer convicted all of us and she had a true, hot to the touch, fire for God that could be felt even from the pews. She served in Haiti in humility and boldness, relying on God for all things. She wrote in a letter: “God will fulfill his will to cover every corner of Haiti with the knowledge of Him by raising up youth. They will rise up in fiery passion for the glory of God.” Her mission was for the people in Haiti to receive the Gospel. She endured the most challenging times in Haiti’s history - the COVID-19 pandemic and the incredible, history altering political unrest. Kidnapping, extortion and murders are so common that Haiti has been considered a “do not travel” country. Despite the risk to her life, Missionary Won went, to be where God called her.

Missionary Won’s Commissioning Ceremony

“God will fulfill his will to cover every corner of Haiti with the knowledge of Him by raising up the youth. They will rise up in fiery passion for the glory of God”

The reason I am writing this is to ask for your support. Missionary Won has acquired a devastating injury to the brain (central pontine myelinolysis) that has taken away her ability to move, communicate, or eat. Haiti’s poor health care infrastructure was not able to prevent this. She had to be transferred in an emergency air lift from a hospital in Haiti to Florida for care, but the damage to her brain had already taken place. It was so unexpected and sudden. Her family, friends, and supporters have all been grieving and praying for her.

Please join us in praying for her. Pray that God will bring healing and complete recovery. We have faith that God will heal her.

Please pray for Haiti and people in Haiti for whom this is the way of life - they are unable to find proper medical care and have to go outside of their country for help. Those without the means to do so, languish. Pray that God will bring healing to Haiti.

Please support her financially. Using the air ambulance to transfer her from Haiti to Florida accrued a hefty price tag and there is still a long road of recovery ahead of her. The cost of air ambulance alone was $28,000. Any support, big or small, would be an incredible gift. Donations* will go to Haiti Mission USA and 100% of the funds will be used to support Missionary Won’s medical bills.
