COMPASSION

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

— Luke 4:18-19 (Jesus, quoting Isaiah)

RENEIGHBORING EDISON

The gospel changes the way we think about our neighbors. We want to help disadvantaged children (abused, neglected, physically & mentally disabled). We want to serve the elderly, disabled, single parents, the chronically ill and immigrants in Middlesex County.

God calls us to care about the material condition of our neighbors. So we also care about the comprehensive flourishing of Edison. So we want a healthy neighborhood where the streets are safe, there are responsive public institutions, physical beauty, good schools, a good economy, and good recreational opportunities. This compassion requires long-term sacrificial commitment, but we want to take the small steps of obedience in that direction starting in 2020.

OPPORTUNITIES

Our vision is to serve our neighbors, and give ourselves for their wholeness and flourishing. This means partnering with organizations that:

  • Serve abused and neglected children

  • Help the immigrant and foreigner

  • Strengthen the disadvantaged
